Brown Fox Welcomes Corporate Partner Tom Burton and Litigation Associate Andrew Debter

Brown Fox, a rising business boutique law firm in Dallas and Frisco, Texas, is pleased to announce the arrival of corporate partner, Tom Burton, and litigation associate, Andrew Debter.

About Tom Burton

Tom Burton brings twenty-five years of law firm and in-house experience to the firm’s corporate practice group.  He most recently served as Chief Legal Officer and Secretary for Service King Collision, a private equity owned company with over 6,000 employees in 335 locations in 24 states and more than $1 billion in annual revenue. Prior to Service King, Burton was a partner at Strasburger & Price (now Clark Hill).

Brown Fox corporate lead and co-founder, Adam Fox shared, “Consider Tom’s path with Service King.  He acted as the company’s outside counsel for five years before becoming its general counsel and member of the company’s core leadership team. It’s a testament to his talent and ability to gain his client’s trust.”

I am excited to join the team as I resume private practice after eight years as in-house counsel.”

Burton is also a licensed CPA and worked as an auditor at a Big 6 firm for two years before going to law school. He graduated with honors from of The University of Texas School of Law.  Before law school Burton graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University, with a B.B.A in Accounting & Finance.

About Andrew Debter

Andrew Debter joins Brown Fox as a litigation associate. In joining the Brown Fox team, Debter returns to Texas after time at a law firm in New York City and as a federal clerk in Florida.

“Our commercial litigation practice continues to grow,” shared Managing Partner, Russ Brown. “We are pursuing associate talent to support our busy litigation partners, but we also are seeking to raise the next generation of law firm leaders. Andrew, similar to our other associates, is the type of young attorney we want to develop at Brown Fox.”

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Debter served a two-year federal clerkship with the Hon. Aileen M. Cannon of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Debter’s judicial service also includes student judicial internships for the Hon. Harlan D. Hale of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas and the Hon. John J. Kelley of the New York Supreme Court.  Before clerking, Debter worked as a litigation and insurance coverage associate for a law firm in New York City. His litigation experience includes commercial litigation, insurance coverage, and antitrust litigation.

Debter is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law. Prior to law school, Mr. Debter was an Honors graduate from The King’s College.

Burton and Debter both will office in the firm’s Dallas office.
