Character Matters®

When talent and character come together, great things happen. We approach every client, witness, and opposing counsel with respect, and every case with uncompromising focus, hard work, and integrity. We look for team members who have shown a history of grit, ingenuity, tenacity, creativity, reliability, and problem-solving skills.

Servant Leadership

I am a big fan of my beloved Jayhawks and their basketball team.  It is a form of nostalgia for my alma mater.

I used to spend hours at the record store looking for hidden gems. Now a days I don’t have time to burn looking through vinyls but still enjoy listening to them as often as I can.

Books represent my interest in literacy and its great power to uplift people out of poverty. I have volunteered to read to the blind at The Lighthouse in NYC and taught adults to read in Virginia.

Fly fishing requires focus, finesse, attention to detail, adaptability, and a lot of patience. The challenges are many, but the reward of landing a beautiful trout in a mountain river is hard to beat.

From New York City to Istanbul, this Wes Anderson inspired bag has a knack for finding the best adventures. Staying true to my pack-light principles, it’s often the only luggage I carry—even overseas!

My mother taught me to bake bread as a young child. This instilled a love of cooking and for the magical process of watching a set of ingredients become something delicious.

Given to me by a family member not long after the birth of our son, this sculpture symbolizes the joy of family and the privilege of fatherhood.

Given to and worn by my sons, the crosses represent my admiration and pride as my sons mature driven by their faith, service to others and desire to become good-hearted citizens and neighbors.

I get goosebumps every time I think of that trip to the Theater of Dreams for the Manchester Derby. A trip worth taking, even if you are not a soccer fan.

I went to art college in NYC and later studied painting at SMU and painting remains an important piece of my life. I continue to spend countless hours in museums and exhibitions for painters.

Called dandia in Gujarati, these sticks are used in a traditional Indian folk dance celebrating the Hindu holiday Navrati. Dandia represent the wealth of culture and tradition central to my upbringing, and further embody my love of dancing. The resemblance to drum sticks is a nod to my years as a percussionist.

A gift for my first wedding anniversary, this painting of Hotel El Convento which was built in 1646 in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a reminder of the beautiful and historic location where my husband and I were married.
