  • BENEFITS: Full-time employees receive competitive pay, bonus opportunities, 401k with matching, health insurance, paid vacation, and paid parking.

The Characteristics of a Brown Fox Team Member

We believe in the nobility of our profession, seize the opportunity to solve challenging issues and disputes for great clients, seek to exceed expectations, and value the importance of a great team. We are looking for professionals who adhere to the same professional beliefs and aspirations. Brown Fox team members meet or exceed the following benchmarks inspired by our firm’s Core Values:

Excellence & Impact

Our clients expect the top talent at every level of our law firm, and appreciate accomplished professionals invested in finding smart and efficient solutions for their businesses. We hire to meet this need and seek talented lawyers and staff members with excellent backgrounds and resumes. We also seek difference makers: sharp professionals who provide exceptional counseling and advocacy and want to make an impact when representing clients and in the community.

Character Matters®

When talent and character come together, great things happen. We approach every client, witness, and opposing counsel with respect, and every case with uncompromising focus, hard work, and integrity. This is not a goal, but an expectation. We seek well-rounded citizens with high moral values and ethics that harmonize with our firm’s Core Values. We look for team members who have shown a history of grit, ingenuity, tenacity, creativity, reliability, and problem-solving skills.

Servant Leadership

Great teams are comprised of great teammates. Brown Fox seeks professionals who first ask, “How can I help you?” Additionally, our In the Community focus and annual 50-hour pro bono hour credit provide excellent opportunities to serve the less fortunate and our community.

I have an actual cat, but I love cats so much that I actually decorate with them.  Truly, I love animals of all kinds.  There is an incomparable, simple pleasure in spending time with animals.

I am a second-generation Aggie. Becoming an Aggie instilled in me that character does matter and that it is not just a motto. At home and in my professional career I strive to represent the best of my profession and of my alma mater.

What started out as a simple way to pass time between classes and study breaks transformed into a passionate hobby, fostering some of the best friendships I walked out of law school with. All thanks to this table-tennis paddle my law school roommate Allen gifted me as a birthday present.

The top intersections of my talent and desire are marathon swimming and storytelling, so telling stories about swimming is pretty much the pinnacle of my existence. If you really want to know the best part of me, buy me a beer and ask me about the time I won the 20 Bridges Marathon Swim around Manhattan Island for my fiftieth birthday.

I get goosebumps every time I think of that trip to the Theater of Dreams for the Manchester Derby. A trip worth taking, even if you are not a soccer fan.

A gift for my first wedding anniversary, this painting of Hotel El Convento which was built in 1646 in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a reminder of the beautiful and historic location where my husband and I were married.

Sports teach us teamwork, perseverance, handling victory and defeat, and making sacrifices, all of which I have tried to instill in my daughters. As I have aged and left my glory years behind me, I have gladly become an avid fan and spectator.

While I have resigned myself to the reality that I will never be the golfer I want to be, I have been fortunate enough to play (albeit poorly) some of the most beautiful courses in the world.

I am a big fan of my beloved Jayhawks and their basketball team.  It is a form of nostalgia for my alma mater.

I have been fortunate to have won many cases during my career, including many trials and appeals, including one before the Texas Supreme Court. I have also been fortunate to have won many games and some league titles playing on some very good hockey teams. No award means more to me than this trophy my three children gave me one Father’s Day, which is my favorite holiday.

I will always carry my African and Congolese identity with pride.

One of the best and hardest things I have done was to commit, train, and participate in the Capital to Coast, a relay race from Austin to Corpus Christi. 14 women, 2 vans, 223 miles, 37 hours, and a lifetime of memories!
