Brown Fox Hires Two New Associates at Start of 2022

Brown Fox is pleased to share that associate attorneys Sarah-Grace French and Joshua Mahaffey have joined the firm in Dallas and Collin County, respectively. Ms. French will primarily work with the Governmental team within the Litigation group. Mr. Mahaffey will be in the Corporate group, focusing on corporate and transactional needs and mergers and acquisitions.

Ms. French has worked both in the public and private sector as an attorney, most recently working with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Earlier Ms. French represented municipalities, providing valuable experience that will come into play in the firm’s governmental practice. Ms. French obtained her law degree from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2019, serving as the Associate Managing Editor of the SMU International Law Review Association. Prior to law school she graduated summa cum laude from Texas Tech University. Darrell Noga, a Partner at Brown Fox and Chair of the Governmental Practice Group added, “Sarah-Grace has successfully represented Texas municipalities in the past. We were pleased to be able to convince her to return to her Texas home from Colorado and use her considerable skills for the benefit of Texas governmental officials and employees.”

Mr. Mahaffey spent over twenty years in the transportation and logistics industry, with an emphasis on risk management, prior to obtaining his law degree. He often engaged and collaborated with attorneys on a wide range of legal issues, including litigation, mergers & acquisitions, risk management, and corporate and contractual needs. Mr. Mahaffey became an in-house attorney with his long-time employer before joining Brown Fox. This unique blend of experience equipped Mr. Mahaffey with an invaluable appreciation of clients’ needs through the lens of risk manager, experienced corporate leader, and in-house counsel. Mr. Brown shared, “Like most of Brown Fox hires, we’ve seen Joshua in action for years. He’s a go-getter, extremely reliable, and gets business. Mr. Mahaffey graduated from Oklahoma Christian University cum laude, later earning his M.B.A in business management from the University of Arkansas, graduating magna cum laude. Thirteen years later he again graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law.
