Brown Fox Again Joins Act in Fighting for Safer Dallas-Fort Worth Neighborhoods
October 14, 2024 by Brown Fox
Brown Fox is proud to again serve as a corporate sponsor for Advocates for Community Transformation’s (Act) fall benefit, A City Transformed: An Evening Benefiting Act. Act equips families who live in high-crime areas to fight crime on their street using the legal system. The organization’s vision is to see safe neighborhoods, where crime is no longer tolerated, and hope is restored. Act has helped residents have a voice in the judicial system, including addressing and resolving cases involving hundreds of crime properties across West Dallas, South Dallas, South Oak Cliff, and now Fort Worth. The fundraiser in support of Act’s work is scheduled later this month.
Brown Fox has been a supporter of Act since the firm’s founding in 2010, whether through financial support, pro bono legal assistance, or pro bono work for Act clients. In 2019, Managing Partner Russ Brown and his wife, Renee, chaired Act’s Fall Benefit. Earlier this year, Brown explained why serving Act over the past fifteen years is so important to him and Brown Fox. Brown said, “We are huge fans of Act’s mission and we want to do everything we can to help them make the streets of Dallas safer.” Brown Fox attorneys, including Brian Robison, David Denton, Alan Carrillo, Tim Wells, and Farwa Zahra, have handled pro bono cases for Act clients. Jeff Ward, the firm’s new COO, explained, “With access to our justice system comes a responsibility to serve and support those who are the victims of crime but have barriers to the systems in place to provide a solution. We are pleased to continue our sponsorship and support of Act, which aligns so well with our core value of impact in serving our community.”
