More importantly, I am ecstatic to partner with yet another talented, character-first lawyer who fits seamlessly on the Brown Fox team.”
Ms. Koonce brings a breadth of trial and appellate experience and has obtained favorable results through bench and jury trials, summary judgment, and appellate victories. She has obtained judgments against dozens of brokers, recipients of Ponzi scheme payments, and other facilitators or fraudsters in receivership-related lawsuits, and successfully defended those judgments on appeal at the Fifth Circuit.
Ms. Koonce graduated magna cum laude from Abilene Christian University, then later cum laude from Pepperdine School of Law, where she received the President’s Scholarship (full tuition) and served as a member of the Pepperdine Law Review. She interned for the Hon. Judge Sidney A. Fitzwater, U.S. District Court Judge from the Northern District of Texas. Ms. Koonce started her career at a large international firm and later joined a small regional firm, helping grow it to 60+ attorneys and becoming its first female equity partner.
Ms. Koonce is active in the community and has volunteered with the Dallas Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), DISD’s “Girls with Pearls” program, which mentors young immigrant girls, and as a YMCA youth coach. She currently serves on the Pepperdine Law School Board of Advisors and previously served on the Board of Directors of NAFER, Empowering Women as Leaders, and National Counsel of Appellate Staff Attorneys.
