Through a partnership between local business leaders and Youth Justice Alliance, which invests in aspiring first-generation lawyers from Title-1 high schools, associate Alan Carrillo met with students of Skyline High School in southeast Dallas who are committed to pursuing careers in law.
“As a fellow first-generation four-year college graduate and first-generation attorney, it was a tremendous honor to meet with and mentor high school students who are already committed to the legal profession and have a promising future.”
Alongside a local criminal defense attorney, Mr. Carrillo fielded questions about how to effectively prepare for college with the aim to attend law school, how to succeed in law school, and what it’s like to be a lawyer and practice civil litigation in Dallas.

It is exciting to see what Skyline is providing and accomplishing. I was also inspired by the students’ informed questions and their motivations to advocate for others. I look forward to seeing them succeed.”
