Brown Fox Sponsors A City Transformed: An Evening Benefiting Act

Brown Fox is proud to again sponsor Act’s fall benefit.  In late October Act hosted “A City Transformed: An Evening Benefiting Act.”

Act equips families who live in high-crime areas to fight crime on their street using the legal system. From Act:

“Founded in 2009 by Dallas lawyer Reid Porter, Act empowers residents living in high crime areas to fight illegal activity on their street through providing access to the civil justice system and the legal tools necessary to take back their neighborhood. By representing families who are not safe because of crime and violence in their neighborhood, Act works to hold the owners of crime-ridden properties accountable and to eradicate criminal activity from the property.”

The organization’s vision is to see safe neighborhoods, where crime is no longer tolerated, and hope is restored. Act has partnered with over 275 residents to resolve 185 crime properties across West Dallas, South Dallas, and South Oak Cliff. Brown Fox has been a supporter of Act since the firm’s founding in 2010, whether through financial support or pro bono work for Act clients.

This year’s gathering focused on raising awareness about Act’s casework in South Dallas, South Oak Cliff, Pleasant Grove, and Fort Worth to encourage guests to better know, love and transform the city.
