Brown Fox Adds Labor & Employment Partner Stephen Key and Senior Counsel John Freeman

Brown Fox is proud to announce the addition of labor and employment attorneys Stephen Key and John Freeman. Mr. Key and Mr. Freeman add invaluable depth to the firm’s growing labor and employment practice group.
Mr. Key joins Brown Fox after starting and managing his own successful labor and employment boutique for 23 years. He brings unique experience to the firm, with decades of work focused on representing management in matters involving employment litigation, governmental regulation, and union relations. Mr. Key has successfully represented employers in more than 90 union organizing drives.
Mr. Key is a board-certified labor and employment attorney, garnering many accolades for his legal talents throughout his career, including D Magazine Best Lawyers in Dallas and eight Super Lawyers honors. Prior to his practice, he earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University and served on the SMU Law Review as an Editor. Mr. Key shared, “I am very pleased and excited to join Brown Fox. At this stage of my practice, what I do is not as important as how I do it and the attorneys here really do put character first.”

In his younger days he was a competitive skydiver. Mr. Brown added, “Those activities serve as exhibits A, B, and C to Stephen’s nerves of steel. He leverages his fearless nature, excellent experience, and creative thinking into incredible representation of our clients.”
John Freeman also joins the firm as Senior Counsel after over a decade working at Key Harrington & Barnes with Mr. Key. Mr. Freeman specializes in employment law and business litigation and is recognized as an A-V rated litigator for his high ethical standards and legal ability. Mr. Freeman earned his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and law degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law, where he was an editor for the Vanderbilt Law Review. He served in the United States Navy as a Supply Officer aboard the USS Duval County, LST-758.
