Given to and worn by my sons, the crosses represent my admiration and pride as my sons mature driven by their faith, service to others and desire to become good-hearted citizens and neighbors.

Originally belonging to my great grandparents, and used by my grandmother to study when she was a child, this oil wick lamp is a reminder of my family and the hard work and sacrifices that were made for me such that I could graduate from law school. It embodies humility and persistence which have formed the core of my character.

Given to me by a friend years ago, the carabiner reminds me to stay connected with the present and be connected to the people I meet, and to take risks outside of my comfort zone to fully experience every day.
